Saint Augustine of Hippo

He was the first bishop of Hippo Regius in Numidia, Roman North Africa, where he served as a philosopher and theologian known as Augustine of Hippo. One of the most influential Church Fathers of the Latin Church during the Patristic Period, his teachings affected the development of Western philosophy and Western Christianity.
