Virgin Christian martyred by the Roman emperor Maxentius in the first decade of the fourth century. Also known as: Saint Catherine of Alexandria, Saint Catherine of the Wheel, and The Great Martyr. Princess and scholar, according to her hagiography, she converted hundreds of people to Christianity and was killed when she was just 18 years old.
