Longinus was a soldier in the Roman Reagent and the one that pierced Jesusí side on the cross. He later believed Jesus was the Lord and, along with others, converted to Christianity. His feast day is on October 16/March 15th. He was beheaded with other martyrs, but his head was, by Pilateís order, placed on a trash heap outside the city walls.
