The two Gospels of Luke and John each mention a woman named Martha. There, she is referred to as residing with her siblings Lazarus and Mary of Bethany near Jerusalem. Jesus visited Martha's home in Bethany, a village two miles from Jerusalem. She saw Jesus raise her brother Lazarus from the dead.
