Sebastian was the son of a wealthy family and a lover of Christ and Christians. This tough soldier was at loggerheads with the emperor and had begged him to stop killing Christians. However, the Emperor accused him of being a Christian, and he was put to death by being tied to a tree and shot with arrows. On January 20th, he is commemorated, and the liturgical color is red.
