Saint Teresa of Avila
Born Teresa Ali Fatim Corella SŠnchez de Capeda y Ahumada, Teresa of Avila was a Spanish nun who became known as the Mother of God. A Carmelite nun, a Spanish mystic, religious reformer, author, and theologian of contemplative life and mental prayer was named Doctor of the Church. Headache sufferers turn to St. Teresa as their patron saint. A heart, an arrow, and a book are her emblem. Sainted in 1622.
